Abstract

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), characterized by a thickened, fibrotic myocardium with or without a dynamic left ventricular (LV) outflow tract gradient, remains the most common cause of sudden cardiac death in young adults. To date, there is no cure for this condition. Based on animal and clinical data, we hypothesized that atorvastatin would induce LV mass regression.
