Abstract

Sclerosing osteomyelitis affecting the jaws is a rare disorder in paediatric patients. As clinical findings can mimic dental infection clinicians must understand and consider this unusual pathology in their differential diagnoses. This potentially complex condition requires prompt diagnosis to permit definitive management. If identified early, a multi-disciplinary approach can be utilised to optimise patient care and outcome.
