Abstract

Adolescent depression remains underrecognized and undertreated partly because of inadequate primary care provider (PCP) training in depression care. Training for PCPs using standardized patients (SP) has shown promise to facilitate screening and detection of adolescent depression in cross-sectional studies, but the longitudinal impact remains unknown. The objective of this study was to examine the long-term impact of PCP training on screening and detection of adolescent depression in primary care.
