Abstract

There is significant comorbidity between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ADHD. For children with ASD, their functional impairment becomes more pronounced when ADHD is present. Children with this comorbidity experience greater impairment in adaptive skills and poorer quality of life. Children with ASD and ADHD can be more challenging to assess and treat as they struggle with negative mood, mood lability, self-control, and cognitive shifting. Participants will learn assessment and treatment strategies for children with ASD and comorbid ADHD.
