Abstract

Augmentation reality (AR) technology offers virtual information alongside real environment information. There is a paucity of literature for the use of AR specifically within dentistry. Head mounted AR can project operative plans, anatomy and participant medical imaging onto the wearer’s real environment. This technology is being developed with a view to further improve clinical surgical outcomes. This study looks at exploring the perceptions of oral surgeons and dentists with special interests (DWSI) on the use of AR within oral surgery.
