Abstract

The recent incidence of cutaneous melanoma across different thicknesses in the United States is not well described. Our aim was to evaluate recent trends in the incidence of melanoma by tumor thickness and examine associations of sex, race/ethnicity, and socioeconomic status (SES) with thickness-specific incidence. We analyzed 187,487 patients with a new diagnosis of cutaneous melanoma in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Registry from 2010 to 2018. We calculated age-adjusted incidence rates of melanoma by tumor thickness and annual percentage change (APC) in incidence rates.
