Abstract

Three-dimensional flow in the centrifugal fan without scroll casing, which is used for the the indoor unit of air-conditioners unit are simulated in order to investigate the flow structure. The obtained numerical results show good agreements with the aerodynamic performance and the velocity distribution between blades by the PIV method. From the numerical result, separation flow structure is formed near trailing edge of both the blade suction surface and shroud surface at design point. Furthemore, the separation flow structure near trailing edge and shroud surface are significantly developed, according to decrease the flow rate.
