Abstract

This paper investigates the relation between the dynamic balance ability and the age of human. The purpose of this research is quantification of dynamic balance ability of human by identification of the model parameters of the human balance control model. First, subjects of various age were measured to examine the relation between the dynamic balance ability and the age. Subjects controlled balance on a seesaw. Second, the dynamic balance ability was quantified by identification of the model parameters. Third, experimental results showed that the relations between model parameters and the age were not significant. Finally, the relation between the fitting error and the age was examined, and the fitting error increases with age.
