Abstract
AbstractAs liquid crystal displays (LCDS) have come to be used in a wider range of applications, optically functional films have been receiving growing expectations from market as key components for LCDS. In that situation, Sumitomo Chemical and other manufacturers have developed new optical films with various advanced functions. This paper reports the background of LCD industry and recent trends and developments of optically functional films.
