Abstract

Study Objectives: In 2009 we introduced coronary computed tomographic angiography for evaluation of low to intermediate risk chest pain patients in an effort to reduce the number of emergency department patients requiring hospital admission to exclude acute coronary syndromes. A prior study from our center found no major cardiac adverse events in patients discharged from the emergency department (ED) with normal or non-obstructive coronary computed tomographic angiographies over a 6-month follow up period in 2009.
