Abstract
As many clinical programs worldwide seek to develop post–emergency department (ED) discharge psychiatric services for youth, this paper reviews the existing literature on brief services for suicidal youth. It has 2 aims: 1) to describe the brief services models that have demonstrated efficacy in reducing suicidal behaviors; and 2) to compare and contrast the treatment components, their timing, and their delivery method.
