Abstract
The concept of Crack Energy Density (CED) for piezoelectric material is generalized to treat a mixed mode crack. CED in arbitrary direction for piezoelectric material is defined first and its fundamental properties are discussed. Path independent expression of CED in arbitrary direction, that is useful to evaluate it, is given and the relationship between CED in arbitrary direction and energy release rate is discussed.
