Abstract
The first issue of the Empire Survey Review was in July 1931 - over 60 years uninterrupted service to the land survey profession. Even during the Second World War it was still published, albeit in somewhat reduced size from 1942. Such is the fascination of many of the early papers that I have been asked to compile a ‘60 Years Ago’ column to appear on an annual basis.
