Abstract

At present, the majority of inpatients who undergo incision and drainage of cervico-facial infections at the Queen Elizabeth university Hospital have pus swabs sent routinely for culture and sensitivity tests. We aim to explore if there is evidence to support this practice, and whether pus swabs had any influence on the patient’s definitive antibiotic regimen.
