Abstract

This chapter surveys the state of the art of the use of polymer composites (especially conducting polymers) for flexible pressure sensing applications. Combining conductive polymers (PANI, PPy, PEDOT-PSS) in a pressure sensor assembly can improve the sensor performance, including sensitivity, detection durability, response time, and so on. These flexible pressure sensors are capable of practical applications, especially in wearable electronics and health monitoring. This chapter examines compounds for pressure sensor assemblies, especially essential conductive polymers for pressure sensors, their working mechanisms, evaluation parameters, design and fabrication processes, and applications of flexible pressure sensors, especially those including conductive polymers.
