Abstract
Adolescent email communication with health providers will increase. Previous studies suggest that teens feel empowered by asynchronous electronic communication, and that disclosure of problems might be more explicit than verbal exchanges in the office setting. The aim of this project, part of a larger research program, is to describe the content and structure of emails sent from adolescents to a UK-based teen health website, in order to better understand adolescents’ health concerns and the language they use to describe them through this medium.
