Abstract

Bu calisma, 6,7 ve 8. sinif ogrencilerinde “tarihsel bilginin nasil algilandigini” ortaya cikarmayi amaclamaktadir. Karma yontemin tercih edildigi calismada, amacli orneklem yontemlerinden maksimum cesitlilik kullanilmistir. Calismanin uygulama safhasi, 2008-2009 egitim ogretim yilinda gerceklestirilmistir. Calismanin nicel boyutunu olusturan anket, Istanbul ve Manisa illerinde toplam 21 ilkogretim okulundan 450, 6,7 ve 8. sinif ogrencisine uygulanmistir. Nitel boyutunu olusturan yari yapilandirilmis gorusme formu ise ayni gruptan random yontemle belirlenmis 12 ogrenciye uygulanmistir. Bu amacla nicel verilerin analizinde, tek yonlu varyans analizi (One Way Anova), Tukey ve Tamhane testleri kullanilmistir. Nitel veriler ise betimsel analiz yontemiyle incelenmistir. Calismanin sonuclari genel olarak degerlendirildiginde, ogrencilerin, genel tarih/tarihsel bilgiyi, ogretmenlerinin derste anlattigi tarih/tarihsel bilgi ile buyuk oranda ayni sekilde degerlendirdikleri gorulmustur. Bununla birlikte ogrencilerin, tarih/tarihsel bilginin olusumu yapisi niteligi hususunda yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadiklari, nesnellik konusunda anket verilerindeki kararsizligin, gorusme formunda neredeyse tamamen olumluya dondugu gorulmektedir. Anket verilerinde tarih/tarihsel bilginin gercekligi hususunda ogrencilerin yaklasik 1/3’u olumlu ifadeler kullanmisken, gorusme formunda bu oran oldukca artmistir. Bu bilgi turunun faydali oldugu hususu ise her iki olcme aracindan da elde edilen ortak bir sonuctur. Ayrica sinif seviyesi yukseldikce ciktikca katilimci ifadelerindeki genel belirsizligin azaldigi gorulmektedir. Sinif Ogrencisi THE ANALYSIS of PERCEPTION CONCERNING HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE of 6 th , 7 th and 8 th GRADE STUDENTS Abstract: The present study aims to reveal perception of 6 th , 7 th and 8 th grade students towards historical information. Whereas mixed method is preferred in this study, among the purposeful sampling methods, maximum variation sampling method was employed. The study was conducted along the academic year of 2008-2009. The survey constituting quantitative dimension of the study was conducted on 450 students at the 6 th , 7 th and 8 th grade from 21 primary schools in Istanbul and Manisa Cities. Semi-structured interview form constituting qualitative dimension of the study was conducted on 12 students randomly selected from the same study group. To that end, whereas One Way Anova variance analysis, Tukey and Tamhane tests were employed in analysis of quantitative data; qualitative data was examined through descriptive analysis method. According to the general results of the study, it was observed that students consider general history information mostly in the way given and explained by their teachers. Additionally, it was observed that students were knowledgeable much about origin, structuring and quality of history/historical information; and indecisive attitude observed in the answers given to the survey questions regarding subjectivity totally revolved to positive when it comes to consideration of interview form. While one third of students used positive expressions in the survey data regarding truth of history/historical information, this proportion increased in the interview form. According to the both measuring tools, it can be considered that this type of information is useful. Moreover, it was observed that general uncertainty in expressions of participants have disappeared proportionally while grade levels of students increased.
