Abstract

AbstractSeveral factors are the sources for the increasing pressure on companies to change. However, a majority of change programmes fail. In this paper we discuss five avoidable problems in improvement initiatives that may lead to such project failures. To each problem we suggest a solution, and describe how it can be implemented in a simple way. The solutions are: create problem awareness, allocate key people that are able and willing to support the project teams, start with one pilot project, allocate qualification topics to roles, and define project milestones and review criteria.
