Abstract

Cellular mobile networks have been evolved from 1st generation to 5th generation. 5G network has uniqueness of deploying in network slicing modes which leads the technology dynamically. 5G small cell is going to become direct demand of the vertical industry. Network slicing feature opens path of new business model in which mobile phone operators can earn huge return on investment (ROI) by hiring out third party as neutral host. Small cell will be viable cost-effective solution for 5G coverage and capacity enhancement for all stake holders. In this paper we will propose and discuss design parameters for 5G indoor small cell and Open-RAN (O-RAN) based on state-of-the-art model solutions found in recent research. The proposed design model and its parameters will be of great interest for the research community in finalizing 5G indoor small cell solution. Finally, future 5G small cell design requirements are analyzed and discussed.
