Abstract

Nowadays, 4G services are evolving towards the fifth generation (5G) cloud native ones. In particular, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) need to integrate and test multiple components from the orchestration to the infrastructure level, including the applications and terminals. These perspectives imply reducing Operational Expenditures and injecting automation in the MNOs' mobile network infrastructure. From this perspective, we present in this paper an integrated mobile networking system based on Open Source Software (OSS). As part of the 5G-EVE project which aims at building an End-to-end 5G facility, we propose for the orchestration part of the project the Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP) to deploy Cloud Native Functions (CNFs) such OpenAirInterface (OAI) Cloud Radio Access Network (CloudRAN). We also describe the OAI-FlexRAN architecture and its configuration that supports slicing.
