Abstract

This paper presents a new user-centric approach in establishing reliable communication for mission and time-critical data, being able to use multiple available heterogeneous data networks to deliver one or several multimedia services at once. The framework is using present and future networks, and the proposed architecture presents an emergency and mission critical data system model, based on the fundamental principles of 5G network architectures. Thus, the end-IoT devices communicate with IoT applications, hosted in cloud servers or edge computing servers. The novel simulation results and analysis present superior system performance with high level of end-to-end reliability depending on the link delays, and at the same time low average end to end outage, based on the link outage. The framework also provides an intelligent solution for high reliability and low end-to-end delay for emergency and mission critical data services and communications, emerging as essential for the security of the society and citizens, by simultaneously using multiple radio access technologies.
