Abstract

Abstract Several intermetallic uranium compounds have been investigated. The most drastic changes are found for the unoccupied states, which have been monitored by Bremsstrahlung Isochromat Spectroscopy (BIS). As an example we present data for UPt4Ir, which indicate that the hybridization between 5f and ligand metal d states in some cases is very large, giving rise to a configuration fluctuation.
