Abstract
Early aging is become increasingly important as the life expectancy rise rapidly. The occurrence of early aging is influenced by both extrinsic and intrinsic factors: the lower production rate of collagen and elastic fibers, the breaking of elastic fibers and collagen fibers caused by UV-induced metalloproteinases. Early aging shows a decline of the skin at multi-levels, which needs multi-effect active substances. Retinol and its derivatives are the most effective anti-aging substances. By increasing the synthesis of collagen and inducing dermal elastin and fibers, retinol and its derivatives effectively reduce wrinkles and improves skin firmness as well as elasticity.
