Abstract

Intersectionality theory suggests that lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) youth of colour – including South Asian youth – may experience double minority stress, due to facing the multiple stressors of sexual minority stigma and racism. There is relatively little research focusing on what is needed to improve support for South Asian LGBTQ youth according to their lived experiences. The purpose of this study was to identify the actions that South Asian gay and bisexual young men recommended for parents and communities to improve support for South Asian sexual minority youth living in Canada.
