Abstract

Purpose: Children undergoing heart transplantation (HTx) who have preformed anti-HLA antibodies (PRA) and/or a positive retrospective crossmatch (XM) may have increased complication rates. Pragmatic limitations preclude routine prospective donor XM. This study assessed the outcome of patients that received HTx at our institution who had either positive PRA before transplant or a positive retrospective XM.
