Abstract

Background: So far, we haven't found any previous report attempted to transduce latent membrane protein (LMP1) of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) to endothelial cells of thoracic aorta segments of rat (EC-TASR).We have reported that LMP1 protects human endothelial cells apoptosis in vitro by upregulating anti-apoptotic genes. To determine whether EBV LMP1 protects endothelial cells (EC) against apoptosis in vivo, adenovirus and retrovirus delivery systems were used to deliver LMP1 into EC. We compared the transduction efficiency of recombinant virus in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC), bovine aorta endothelial cells (BoAEC) and EC-TASR.
