Abstract

Hybrid light-emitting devices (HLEDs) can combine the advantages of organic and inorganic materials, and thus exhibit excellent device performance upon external bias stimulus. In this talk, we present our recent works about design, fabrication and performance optimization of hybrid light-emitting devices based on novel quantum dots (QDs) material. Firstly, we report the fabrication and performance of flexible quantum dot light-emitting devices (QD-LEDs) based on CdSe/ZnS QDs. The argon plasma treatment was utilized to obtain a smooth surface morphology for the polymer-QDs hybrid layer. The results indicate that the QD-LED can produce orange light with narrow emission peak. The QD-LED has a low EL turn-on voltage of about 3.5V. After severe bending, the QD-LED exhibited stable current density without obvious change. Furthermore, 4 inches green QD-LED was realized with doctor blade coating technique, and a maximum average luminance of 4100 cd/m2 was obtained for the green emissions.
