Abstract

The title compound, C7H6N4S, was synthesized by reacting pyridine-3-carboxylic acid and thiosemicarbazide. The dihedral angle between the planes of the thiadiazole and pyridine rings is 32.42 (14)°. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N—H⋯N interactions link the molecules into a three-dimensional network, forming R 2 2(8) ring motifs. π–π contacts between thiadiazole rings [centroid–centroid distance = 3.666 (1) Å] may further stabilize the structure.
