Abstract

Psoriasis is a cutaneous disease as well as a systemic chronic inflammatory disease that is closely associated with multiple comorbidities, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Recently developed treatment modalities are highly effective for psoriasis skin lesions. The greater the extent of the body surface area affected, the more prone the patient is to psoriatic arthritis and systemic inflammation. Therefore, tight control of psoriatic skin lesions may reduce the incidence of future comorbidities.
