Abstract
Recently it has been reported that late preterm infants are at increased risk for adverse neonatal outcomes, when compared to term infants. However, there is a paucity of information regarding the relationship between intra-uterine inflammation and adverse neonatal outcome in late preterm infants, although this relationship is well established in preterm infants born at <34 weeks. The objective of this study was to determine whether histologic chorioamnionitis (HCA) is associated with adverse neonatal outcomes in late preterm infants who were born after preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM).
