Abstract

In recent years, because of demand for rebuilt the building that were constructed in high economic growth period (1960s), demolition work is carried out energetically in many places in Japan. Heavy equipment such as excavators is commonly used to the demolition work. However, the excavators generate uncomfortable vibration to neighbors. Therefore a system that is able to suppress the vibration is needed. In order to solve this problem, a multiple tuned mass damper (MTMD) was applied to excavator in this study. First of all, created analysis models and selected parameter. Then, compared the performance of MTMD and tuned mass damper (TMD) in numerical simulation. As a result, it was confirmed that MTMD and TMD is able to suppress predominant vibration in the target work. Additionally, it was confirmed that MTMD is effective in not only target work, but also other work that have different predominant frequency. Next, the prototype of MTMD was made and the element test was executed. The result showed the prototype satisfies the design performance.
