Abstract

Esophageal ESD is gradually becoming the standard for the treatment of superficial esophageal carcinoma, however following esophageal ESD patient's quality of life is greatly reduced with frequent painful balloon dilation, which is often required regardless of the size and position of the resected area. We set out to develop a new method for esophageal ESD incorporating regenerative medicine. Our aim was to study the effect of cell sheets on constriction and wound healing. Cell sheet technology is already applied to cornea regeneration and heart disease treatment in clinical situations.
