Abstract

Chronic pain is a common condition, with social and economic implications. Treatment modalities in children include pharmacological and nonpharmacological approaches. The nonpharmacological approaches range from outpatient to inpatient approaches, are beneficial, and lack the side effects caused by pharmacological interventions. In adults, involving education in multidisciplinary care for chronic pain has shown immediate improvement as well as sustained and long-term benefits. In this poster, we will investigate the impact of pain physiology education in the management of pediatric chronic pain and its outcomes.
