Abstract

This paper studies the influence of dimming frequency of Organic Light‐Emitting Diode (OLED) smartphone displays on the viewer's visual fatigue. Results show that, after a short period of viewing (about 35min) in the dark environment, no statistically significant difference occurs in the effect of tested dimming frequencies, ranging from 360Hz to 1920Hz together with a direct‐current mode, on neither subjective ratings nor objective measurements of visual fatigue.
