Abstract

In rotating machinery, balancing of the rotor system is important when it is operated in the high rotational speed. In this paper, a method of vibration control for concentrated parameter asymmetrical rotating shaft system utilizing the disturbance observer(D.O.) is proposed. In addition to the unbalance of thr rotor; the nonlinear terms, asymmetry, parameter variations and uncertain terms of a rotor system are lumped into a disterbance term, and this term is cancelled by using D.O.. We investigate the vibration control and presumption of the rotor unbalance of the nonlinear asymmetrical rotor system by using D.O.. As a result, the vibration of the system are controlled to a small amplitude in all over the rotational speed range, and the imbalance of the first mode of the rotor system is estimated simultaneously using the infomation of disturbance obtained by D.O..
