Abstract

Melanoma is a malignant skin tumor in which progression of the disease occurs most frequently in the first 3 years after removal of the primary tumor, and metastasis can occur at any time and any place. However, early detection of disease progression improves prognosis and patient survival, and tumor markers may help us in this. Serum markers and radiological imaging methods are used in daily practice, but serum markers may be more readily available and more suitable for close monitoring of the disease.
