Abstract

1) The effects of K, Na, Pb, Sn, S, Be, Ti, Zr, Cd, P and Se on the allotropic transformation point of Co and also new equilibrium diagrams of cobalt side with elements Sn, Be, Zr, P and Se have been established by total and differential thermal analyses, magnetic measurements, dilatometry and microscopy. 2) From the results of this and other works(1) of the author the relation between the effects of additional metals on the allotropic transformation point of Co and their atomic radii, lattice constants or lattice ratios has been considered. 3) The effect of transformation velocity in heating and cóoling on the allotropic transformation point of cobalt alloyed with various elements is considered. The allotropic transformation velocity of cobalt becomes smaller with additional elements. Typical example of these additional elements are W, Mo, V, Be, Sn, etc. and in these cases curves of the allotropic transformation point of Co rises in heating curves and lower in cooling curves.
