Abstract

In the past 2 years, 5 bovine cases of tumor indicating metastatic implantation in the serous membrane of the body cavity were encountered at the Tama Meat Inspection Station. They were diagnosed histologically as malignant granulosa-cell tumor, ovarian papillary adenocarcinoma, malignant lymphoma, malignant theca-cell tumor, and mesenchymal chondrosarcoma, respectively. Ovarian papillary adenocarcinoma and malignant theca-cell tumor are rare in Japan. Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma with isletlike aggregation of chondromatous cells and tumorous hyperplasia of fibroblast and reticular cell-like cells has not yet been reported in Japan.
