Abstract

The purpose of this article is to define the general features of discrimination against women in the Ukrainian online newspapers. Special attention is paid to models of femininity and sexist language. In this article was singled 5 most common ways how Ukrainian media can discriminate women. Lexical-semantic aspect of some article headline examples about women also have been considered. Consideration of the online newspapers in terms of sexist language and gender stereotypes is an effective way for implementation of language of tolerance. As a result recommendations for journalists was formulated. These recommendations can help to avoid invisibility of female professionals in the media.
