Abstract

Three new 5-sulfosalicylato 3d-metal coordination compounds [CuII(Bhz)2(H2SSal)2] (1), [Zn(Bhz)2(H2SSal)2] (2) and [NiII(Bhz)3]3(HSSal)3.7.5Н2О.0.5(С2H5OH) (3) (where Bhz – benzohydrazide, H2SSal– and HSSal2– – 5-sulfosalicylate anions) have been synthesized and studied by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Luminescent spectra for 1-3 were measured at room temperature. The results obtained show the nature of the metal ions as the deciding factor in the organization of the coordination compounds as well in their photoluminescence properties. The synthesized coordination compounds can be potential luminescent materials.
