Abstract

Abstract On August 25, 1966, there appeared a big-character poster titled "Bombard XX" at the Headquarters of the Army General Staff. Responding to [Mao's] command to "Bombard the Headquarters" [August 5, 1966, big-character poster—Ed.] everyone in a certain department at the Headquarters signed the [August 25] poster, but no one expected that the poster would soon be used to attack Marshal He Long.
