Abstract

Early recognition and treatment of PTSD can improve the functional outcomes and prognosis for children and adolescents. Psychotherapeutic interventions are considered the first-line options for youth struggling with PTSD. However, pharmacological agents now are being used in this population, with evidence mostly inferred from adult literature. Hence, it is important to review existing evidence for the use of pharmacological agents in the pediatric population with PTSD.
