Abstract
BACKGROUND: Patients continue to develop Healthcare Facility-Onset (HO) Clostridium difficile (C.diff) infections at our hospital, despite improved hand hygiene and increased focus on environmental cleaning. As part of the case review, the Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) investigates new cases against prior C.diff room discharges. The ICP continually looks for patterns, trends and clusters for C.diff infection.
