Abstract

Assessments of theory of mind (ToM) can be divided into two constructs, capacity and performance, which represent ToM function in the laboratory and in daily contexts, respectively. However, few studies have simultaneously examined ToM capacity and performance in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and typically developing (TD) children. This study sought to identify differences between children with ASD and TD children in terms of ToM capacity and performance to fully capture the ToM of children with ASD.
