Abstract

Treating ADHD comorbid with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) could improve morbidity and impairment in individuals with autism; however, lower tolerability to psychotropic medications, used to treat ADHD, has been noted in individuals with ASD. The purpose of this interim analysis of the ongoing six-week trial was to assess the tolerability and efficacy of extended-release liquid methylphenidate hydrochloride (brand name Quillivant) for the treatment of ADHD in adults with high-functioning ASD.
