Abstract

[172090-26-5] C6H13B2F9N2O (MW 321.79) InChI = 1S/C6H13FN2O.2BF4/c7-8-1-4-9(10,5-2-8)6-3-8;2*2-1(3,4)5/h10H,1-6H2;;/q+2;2*-1 InChIKey = DRMMNFGYCLJZKD-UHFFFAOYSA-N (electrophilic fluorinating agent) Alternate Name: NFTh, Accufluor NFTh. Physical Data: mp 120 °C (decomposes). Solubility: soluble in water, sparingly soluble in dimethylformamide and acetonitrile. Form Supplied in: 50:50 mixture with aluminum oxide. Analysis of Reagent Purity: iodometric titration. Preparative Methods: widely available commercially. The title reagent can be prepared by the reaction of 4-hydroxy-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane with fluorine and boron trifluoride. Handling, Storage, and Precautions: exposure to NFTh may cause skin irritation. Wear chemical resistant gloves and impervious clothing necessary to prevent any possibility of skin contact when handling. Do not breathe dust. Should not get into eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area. Keep containers upright and tightly closed. Do not heat this material above 158 °F (70 °C), due to rapid, exothermic decomposition with the evolution of large quantities of gas.
