Abstract

Depression among individuals with chronic pain contributes to poorer adaptation, including increased pain and emotional reactivity to stress. Few studies, however, have evaluated whether co-morbid depressive symptoms moderate stress-related changes in daily positive and negative affect in the context of managing a chronic pain condition. Examine the moderating role of depressive symptoms on the link between daily interpersonal stress and positive and negative affect in individuals with chronic pain.
