are few data from studies that more directly examined serotonerglc responses in POD. We carried out such a stud)' u~ing the serotoninreleasing drug, dl-fenfluramine. We recruited 9 women with a prospecrive diagnosis of PDO and II healthy female controls. Each woman underwentu fenfluramlne challenge lest (60 mg p.o.) and a single-blind placebochallenge. Rise in plasma prolactin was the outcome measure of interest. The peak prolactin response to fenflurnrnlne was significantly less (p<O.04) in the POD group after controlling for effects of age and weight.This bluntedresponse is independent of pharmacokinetlc effects. This pilot study provides more direct evidenceof serotonerglcdysfunction in women with POD,
