Abstract

Purpose: Usually, left ventricular (LV) regional wall motion analysis is for evaluation of ischemic heart disease. Assessment of LV function in non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) focuses mainly on global ventricular function and on interventricular synchrony. Because regional LV wall motion alterations also occur in DCM, we assessed their impact on clinical worsening and their potential value for patients’ selection for heart transplantation (HTx).
