Abstract

Optical potential parameters were obtained from the analysis of elastic scattering angular distribution of 3He by 48Ca at 15 MeV. In the 48 Ca( 3 He, α) 47 Ca reaction it was found that no states in 47Ca up to 8 MeV excitation are excited strongly except the ground state and an unresolved doublet at 2.58 MeV. Distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) analysis indicates a mixture of l n = 2 and l n = 0 in the transition to this doublet. Spectroscopic factors extracted with various optical potentials are compared. The choice of optical potential parameters for “best fit” DWBA predictions is discussed.
